McDonalds goes into unbranded branding

I have discussed unbranded branding before on digitalvinyl and this is another example, also coming from Japan. McDonalds recently launched a campaign to bring the quarter pounder burger to Japan, where they transformed two of their locations in Tokyo into exclusive Quarter Pounder shops - positioned under a completely new identity.

I like Google!

It`s a bit old, but still very interesting. I was by coincidence reading the latest comment with a suggestion of creating the globe as a screensaver. Great idea and example of how comments can be used for development. I want a Google visual real-time screensaver...

Revitalising the traditional postcard

Many marketers debates the trend against constant online presence and urge of being connected to your online network. People are not capable of switching off and technology doesn´t set a natural limit. I like this app - since it applies the best from the online and offline world. It gives the old school postcard a new dimension and is an example of how to develop offline business through social media. The Peggy Facebook application makes you capable of creating and sending - free of charge - real postcards to friends and family. Unfortunately it´s only available in UK.

Welcome to NOW

An awesome website for Sprint - a broadband internet provider. I found this at bigsecretpizzaparty - a site i enjoy reading... I found it interesting that she got the link from a friend who twittered it, and its definitely worth to keep an eye on micromedia as newsfeed channel.

Notes from a presentation

Yesterday I participated in the Danish award show AEA - the annual award show that celebrates the most effective advertising campaigns. Among the speakers was an inspiring guy, Lorenzo de Rita, from the Soon Institute and I want to share some thoughts and quotes with you:

"Think for the pleasure of thinking"

"The best things in life are not things"

He also showed his old business card - an old and really old school networking, yuppie like thing - and his title was
human being. Great and informal... and it got me thinking of a friend of mine, that met a business partner who put the text google me
instead of putting the title. Arrogant and cool...

Further, he showed a video from the echo park time travel mart, where you can buy mammut chunks and robot milk. Watch the video:

The world´s biggest beach ball

Looks funny....Cruise Lines dropped the world's biggest beach ball on to a Dallas street. The two three story-tall balls got in the Guiness Book of Records, on the news and there is a TV campaign to follow.
